A Pink Lip For Every Occasion // Chanel, Tom Ford, YSL + Revlon

BEAUTY

I never quite realised how much of a fan I am of pink lipsticks until I went to do a round up for this blog post! Theres quite a mixture of shades, textures, finishes and pigmentation from this bunch of beauties - definitely one to suit every mood and make-up look...

First up, chilling in the bottom left hand corner of my photo is the lovely Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick in the shade 80 - Suspense. It's a super bright fuchsia shade, with some glitter infused throughout, which looks a little scary in the bullet, however it can be subtle on the lips if you apply it with a light hand, as well as being buildable for a brighter look. All of the Rouge Coco Shine range of lipsticks give a shiny, balm like finish on the lips, making them super hydrating, although some are more pigmented than others. I also have another Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick in a much lighter dusky pink shade - no 79 Saga - which was sadly limited edition so has to be used sparingly now haha!

A similar shade (albeit in a matte formula) is the Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in the shade 205 - Elusive - this is a lovely cheaper alternative and has a really good colour pay-off. It can be a little drying as it does have a very matte finish - I'd recommend using a lip scrub and balm first if you want it to look super flawless. Alternatively you can use a lipgloss or balm over the top to give it a more shiny finish with the same pretty dusky pink colour. I love that it comes in a chunky twist-up crayon packaging, which makes it really easy to use on the go!

A gloss I like to use over the top of a pink lipstick, as well as alone is the Chanel Glossimer in the shade 104 - Astral. I'm not normally a massive fan of lip gloss but this one a really beautiful, easy to wear shade with a really unique golden pink shimmer running through it. On it's own it doesn't impart that much colour onto the lips, making for a great part of a natural make-up look, but I also love using it on top of a really bright, vibrant pink lipstick.

One such colour is definitely the Tom Ford Lipstick in the shade 23 - Michael - which forms part of the Lips & Boys Collection. It's a really bright Barbie-esque shade which is definitely not for the faint hearted - you can see my full review here. Another bright option is the Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Lipstick in the shade 37 - L'Exuberante. I really love everything about this lipstick, the quality is amazing, especially for a matte lipstick in that it's non-drying, long lasting, creamy and really effortless to apply, and the packaging is really chic. The shade itself is a kind've hot pink with a strong fuchsia undertone - definitely one I like to wear in the evening rather than as a day time look!

Last but not least is the YSL Rouge Volupte Shine in the shade 06 - Pink In Devotion, which is a vibrant warm pink shade. These lipstick are very similar in texture to the Chanel Rouge Coco Shines with a good pigmentation and a shiny balm like finish. It has a very strong sweet scent which I personally really like, but some people may find slightly overpowering - I think it may be pink grapefruit but it's hard to tell for certain. The packaging is very beautiful but is very easy to damage in your handbag - mine has a fair few dents - so I'd recommend leaving this one at home to display on your dressing table instead! What would you class as your favourite pink lipstick? Please let me know!
