I'm really loving quick, simple eyeshadow looks at the moment and these creamy shadow sticks from Chanel & By Terry are perfect for achieving it!
Both the Chanel Fresh Effect Stylo Eyeshadows and the By Terry Ombre Blackstar Sticks have a similar packaging style, with the shadow winding up and down and able to be applied straight from the bullet. In terms of formula, both are really long lasting and creamy; there is some subtle differences though…The Chanel ones have a cooling effect on the lids (it's kind've strange yet nice!) and seem to dry a little quicker, so I'd recommend only doing one eye at a time and blending quickly, whereas the By Terry ones have a more buttery texture and are more workable in terms of blending. Both have really great lasting power - once set they won't budge or crease!
I have three of the By Terry Ombre Blackstars in the shades Frozen Quartz, Bronze Moon and Misty Rock. I've reviewed Frozen Quartz, a gorgeous pinky-taupe shade before here; it goes perfectly with Misty Rock which is a cool toned mauve colour or Bronze Moon, a warmer shimmering bronzey-brown shade. I love the colour range that By Terry has - with 13 colours to choose from there's definitely something for everyone!
The two Chanel shades I have (Jade Shore & Moon River) are from a past summer collection and sadly aren't available anymore, however their new Mediterranee collection has five new limited edition shades including some lovely neutrals and a few more unique colourful shades - I'd definitely recommend going to your nearest counter and having a play.
I think this eyeshadow style is perfect for summer and for taking on holiday - they're so quick and easy to use, and are a real fuss-free product. What do you think of these shades?
